HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO, 'A TOUCH OF NOVELLI'

A TOUCH OF NOVELLI TURNS 2!
'a touch of Novelli' turns 2 on Sunday 13th January. The celebrity chef's venture at The White Horse in Harpenden, Hertfordshire has come a long way since opening on the so-called superstious date of Friday 13th. This concept crossed all boundaries between restaurant dining and good old fashioned pub food. Now entering it's third year in business, 2008 opens with a back to basics menu featuring rustic classic dishes with a Novelli twist.
THE STORY SO FAR......Opening with an a la carte menu that featured some of Novelli's signature dishes including Oxtail braised with liquorice and his famous pig trotters had fans coming from far and wide. May 2006 saw the opening of the terrace BBQ, that made good use of the stunning gardens that surround the 17th century public house. The terrace was the perfect place to enjoy food cooked straight from the outside charcoal grill in the English summertime.
Not content with being a destination bar and restaurant, October 2007 saw the introduction of the regulary changing bar menu. Served all day, this menu gave passers by the opportunity to pop in for a leisurely get-together with family, friends and colleagues.
A NEW YEAR....... a new menu. 'a touch of Novelli' at The White Horse launches 2008 with a seasonal classic offering where starters feature Potted Morecombe bay shrimps and Honey roasted Winter pumpkin soup. Main courses include, liver and bacon, steak frites and cassoulets while desserts are not to be missed with sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb trifle. This menu emphasises Jean Christophe Novelli's thoughts, 'My venture is about serving great food, great wine........in a warm friendly ambience in an affordable manner' he continued, 'Eating out should be a way to entertain, socialise and convival'. So true to his word, no fuss, easy to read menus and simply great food in a cosy, inviting atmosphere.
2008 promises to be a great year for the, 'touch of Novelli' brand and The White Horse.
